Region 10 Regional Bike & Pedestrian Plan Kick-Off Meeting

The Southwest Georgia Regional Commission (SWGRC) is inviting residents, local governments, community organizations, and stakeholders to participate in the kickoff of the Region 10 Regional Bike & Pedestrian Plan. The virtual meeting will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and marks the beginning of a regional effort to improve walking and bicycling opportunities throughout Southwest Georgia.

The study area includes all fourteen counties in Region 10: Baker, Calhoun, Colquitt, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Lee, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Terrell, Thomas, and Worth Counties. Through public input and stakeholder engagement, the plan will help establish priorities for future bicycle and pedestrian improvements throughout the region.

Community participation is a critical part of the planning process. Attendees will have an opportunity to share ideas and identify needs related to safer sidewalks and crossings, improved bicycle routes and connectivity, better access to schools, parks, and community destinations, increased accessibility for all users, and expanded transportation choices across Southwest Georgia.

Residents and stakeholders interested in shaping the future of active transportation in Region 10 are encouraged to attend the virtual kickoff meeting and help guide the development of a safer, more accessible transportation network for the communities of Southwest Georgia.
