🌾 SOWEGA AgFest 2025: Supporting Local Talent and Regional Momentum

The 2025 SOWEGA AgFest in Camilla, Georgia brought together agriculture, art, and community spirit in a celebration of all things Southwest Georgia. Hosted at the Mitchell County Agricultural Center, this annual event continues to grow in size and impact, drawing families, vendors, and creatives from across the region.

This year’s festival opened with a special Artist Showcase, giving attendees a chance to experience the cultural richness that exists alongside our region’s agricultural roots. Among the featured artists was Amoria Stephens, a rising creative talent and daughter of SWGRC’s own Sheena Stephens. Her work was on display alongside other regional artists, highlighting the deep well of talent in our local communities.

On hand to support was Beka Shiver, SWGRC’s Economic Developer and Transportation Planner, who attended the showcase to celebrate Amoria’s recognition and engage with the community. Events like AgFest are more than just celebrations—they reflect the economic diversity and creative potential that drive rural development.

Beka’s presence at AgFest represents SWGRC’s commitment to supporting regional efforts that blend agriculture, art, and opportunity. Whether through infrastructure planning or economic strategy, her work helps ensure that Southwest Georgia remains a place where talent can thrive.

Congratulations to Amoria Stephens for her inclusion in the Artist Showcase, and thank you to Beka Shiver for representing SWGRC and supporting the next generation of local leaders and creatives.
