Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. Announces FY2027 Community Project Funding (CPF) Opportunity

This opportunity allows eligible cities, counties, and community stakeholders to request federal support for priority local projects through the U.S. House appropriations process.

Communities across Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District are encouraged to begin preparing funding requests as Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. has officially opened the FY2027 Community Project Funding, CPF, request process.

This opportunity allows eligible cities, counties, and community stakeholders to request federal support for priority local projects through the U.S. House appropriations process.

What You Need to Know

  • Application Platform: Requests must be submitted through the official Google Form.
  • Google Account Required: Applicants must log in with a Google account to complete the form.
  • Interim Guidance: FY2027 guidance has not yet been issued by the House Appropriations Committee. Applicants should reference FY2026 guidance as a baseline until updated rules are released.
  • Deadline: Friday, March 6, 2026

Once FY2027 guidelines are released, Congressman Bishop’s office will update the webpage accordingly.

Why This Matters

Community Project Funding enables Members of Congress to advocate for specific projects that directly benefit their districts. Eligible projects often include:

  • Infrastructure improvements
  • Public safety enhancements
  • Water and sewer upgrades
  • Community facilities
  • Economic development initiatives

Local governments and qualified nonprofit organizations are encouraged to coordinate internally and with community partners to assemble required documentation well in advance of the deadline.

Early preparation is critical, particularly given the evolving federal appropriations guidance.
