Community Development in Action: Thomasville and Parrott Seek CDBG Grant Proposals

The cities of Thomasville and Parrott, Georgia are taking steps to secure funding for critical community development projects through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). Both cities have issued Requests for Proposals (RFPs), seeking professional services from qualified firms to assist in the planning and implementation of these projects.


Thomasville: A Safe Haven for Survivors


Thomasville is focusing its CDBG grant proposal on constructing a new shelter for battered women. This initiative will provide a much-needed refuge for individuals facing domestic violence, offering them safety, support, and resources for a fresh start. The city is requesting proposals from architectural firms with expertise in CDBG projects to assist with: 


 

  • Preliminary architectural design for the grant application 
  • Full architectural services if the project is funded 
  • Compliance with HUD and Georgia DCA requirements 

 


The deadline for proposal submissions is March 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM .

Parrott: Investing in Water Infrastructure  


Parrott is directing its efforts toward improving its water system, ensuring residents have access to clean and reliable water services. The city is requesting proposals from engineering firms with experience in CDBG projects to assist with: 


 

  • Preliminary Engineering Report (PAR) preparation
  • Design and construction management services if the grant is awarded 
  • Compliance with federal and state regulations 

 


The deadline for proposal submissions is March 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
