Georgia Association of Regional Commissions’ Annual Economic Development Conference at Lake Lanier Islands.

SWGRC Chairman Anthony Jones, Executive Director Suzanne Angell, and Economic Developer Beka Shiver recently attended the Georgia Association of Regional Commissions’ annual Economic Development Conference at Lake Lanier Islands. The conference agenda covered a myriad of topics, including special tax districts, recreation and tourism, and housing economy and policy. Federal and state officials from the US Environmental Protection Agency, Georgia Environmental Finance Authority, USDA Rural Development and the Georgia Department of Transportation were among the presenters. Staff from the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration also provided a training session. The keynote speaker was the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Commissioner, Christopher Nunn.
